The West of England & Channel Islands District Centenary Baton Relay got underway today (3rd April 2014) with the Baton making the journey from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, where it was made, to the Guernsey Battalion.
Local Press and Radio were on hand to record the event as District Vice President, Andrew Baldwin presented the Baton to Guernsey Battalion Secretary, Bryan Brehaut, with the Captains of 2nd Guernsey, Steve England and 5th Guernsey, Mark Robert also at the handover.
The Baton will now make it's way around the District and all Companies are being encouraged to add a photograph of themselves inside the hollow Baton as it passes through their Battalion.
